Google’s ExplorerCanvas

I’ve been playing with the canvas tag a bit lately. Now that ajax is becoming relatively commonplace, I can imagine canvas becoming one of the pillars of a new generation of web apps. The only thing holding it back has been the lack of support for the tag in Internet Explorer, but Google is solving this problem handily with ExplorerCanvas, which brings canvas functionality to IE with the inclusion of a single .js file.

The appearance of ExplorerCanvas actually makes me wonder if Google is already cooking away on something which makes heavy use of canvas.
