Flow Destroying
Flickr has introduced a new authentication mechanism for their api. I can see why they’re doing it (so that Yahoo users can use flickr without needing to create a flickr account) but I can’t help thinking that the implementation, at least as far as flickrfox is concerned, is going to be clunky and intrusive [...]
Deer Park Alpha
I’m having a play with Deer Park, the alpha candidate for Firefox 1.1. So far it looks great. Flickrfox works with it without any problems, though unfortunately Sage, which I’ve been using to read feeds for a little while, is broken.
There is a swag of new stuff in Deer Park for extension developers, [...]
FlickrFox 0.9.2
I’ve finally pushed out an update to FlickrFox.
This update adds tag-based searching of photos, and the much-requested ability to see your own photostream. It also fixes up a bug where the options window wouldn’t go away when you called it from the button in the Tools > Extensions menu of firefox.

beta testers for flickrfox .9 needed
I’m after some folks to beta test the next version of flickrfox before I release it (especially on OSX and linux). If you’re interested please shoot me an email.
Flickrfox 0.8.3
Another minor release. This release fixes a problem with images getting distorted when an accompanying username is very long.
Flickrfox 0.8.1
This update provides a new option for viewing the thumbnails either as uniform squares (75×75) or with the aspect ratio preserved (100px on the longest side). You can now also specifically set the number of thumbnails you want to see (between 1 and 100). Enjoy!
Flickrfox 0.7.8 released
A small update which changes the refresh interval to a standard 5 minutes; this is to avoid unnecessary load on the flickr servers. I’ve also added a menu item to the View > Sidebar menu.
Introducing Flickrfox
Flickrfox is a firefox extension for browsing flickr photostreams. Check it out. There are some minor issues with the options dialog under linux and mac, but nothing that impacts use. You don’t need a flickr account to use the extension, but it adds much more functionality.
I’m getting into XUL, and can see [...]
