The eMusic Remote
eMusic recently got rid of their clunky old downloader and replaced it with a branded and heavily customized version of Firefox. The new app (dubbed the eMusic Remote) is cross platform and has built in syncing with iTunes, Winamp and Windows Media Player. For me the iTunes integration is particularly welcome because it [...]
undefined
I love the fact that when I click on any of the weekly top artists in my blog’s last.fm widget, I’m taken to the last.fm page of a Spanish progressive death metal band called ‘undefined.’
The Zune Tax
Om Malik has a nice writeup on the news that Microsoft is going to pay Universal Music $1 for each Zune that’s sold, and they’ve extended the offer to the other members of the ‘big music’ cartel. Hidden Data Point
The magical hidden data point for online music services is ‘how loud was the volume when this was played?’ Impossible to get, more than likely (although Pandora, with its flash interface, might have a chance); but imagine the depth that it would add to your stats page.
pandora and last.fm
Last.fm / audioscrobbler has an api and a protocol to push updates for music you’ve listened to into the audioscrobbler database. I would really love the guys from Pandora to consider adding support for sending updates to audioscrobbler into the pandora interface. At the moment all of the music I discover through Pandora [...]
